Departing our Te Anau base we fly over the Iris Burn and Lake Manapouri to our destination - Mt Titiroa.
This peak (1715m) sits proudly behind the Manapouri township and is most certainly remote as there is no track to the summit. This area is a geological marvel, which from a distance looks as though it is snow capped. In fact it has magnificent and unique huge white granite formations and small lakes hidden within. From this elevated location you will have expansive views over Lake Manapouri, the Hunter Mountains and on a clear day to Stewart Island.
