Follow the mighty Upper Waiau River (River Anduin) flowing from Lake Te Anau to Lake Manapouri. Part way down the River Anduin we reach the Brown Lands, the desolate and treeless area between Mirkwood and the Emyn Mull where the Ent Wives made their gardens. Passing through the Hurricane Passage you ascend to Middle Earth south of Rivendell where we land and give you time to take in the magnificence of the Norwest Lakes looking out across Lake Manapouri. This scenic helicopter flight will allow you to experience the stunning beauty of the film locations used by Peter Jackson during the filming of Lord of the Rings in the Fiordland National Park.

 Take a one hour jetboat ride with Luxmore Jet on the Upper Waiau River to view Lord of the Rings film locations.
Luxmore Jet will show you three actual film locations used in the movie. Compare your photos the next time you watch "The Fellowship of the Ring" movie.
On your return Southern Lakes Helicopters will be waiting to take you on a 40 minute flight over the Kepler Mire where Frodo and Sam tramped through the Dead Marshes.
Fly over Lake Manapouri through Hurricane Passage to the Norwest Lakes where the Fellowship left Rivendell. Here the helicopter will land to view the magnificence of the Norwest Lakes and Lake Manapouri before returning to Te Anau.
