Fire Fighting

Southern Lakes Helicopters are an established provider of fire fighting support services to the Department of Conservation and the New Zealand Rural Fire Authority.

We can provide you with a diverse range of aircraft from the R44 as a spotting and communication platform to our AS350B3 and AS350B2 capable of putting 800/1000 litres of water on the fire per lift.  Both Squirrels are equipped with 1000 Litre Monsoon Buckets, with 80 ft long lines capable of dispensing foam units (externally mounted on the aircraft), which frees up the interior for crew transportation.
